2014 was a big year:
In case you missed it, here are photos from each post of 2014 in chronological order.
Happy 2015 everyone,

Somebody’s dancing! They are on the Great Wall of China (Mum note: They are by Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi). The lady peddles the boat to make it move. I was just chilling. Then I was peddling because I wanted to. Then I saw a monkey on the Great Wall of China (Mum note: This was at Halong Bay). The sunset is good – yeah it is. Then I was riding on a baby seat on a bike with daddy. Then I was doing Big Lady statue! (Statue of Liberty) I am swimming in the water (Mum note: Sorry Marshall you did not swim here).

We drove more than 600km return to see Wave Rock, a 14-metre high granite rock that has been eroded into the shape of a giant wave. It was a very nice rock, but then that is all it was. A very nice rock. – Mum

We almost didn’t get to spend the night in Cape Le Grand – arriving in the park, we realised the fuel in our tank wouldn’t get us to Lucky Bay and back. So we counted kilometres with no air conditioning and found the nearest petrol station just in time to make it back to the site before the sun went down. It was an incredibly windy night – but when you are that close to the ocean the wind is just like a speaker for the waves. I couldn’t think of a better lullaby or alarm clock. – Mum
Me and daddy are running in circles and I am catching his bum. – Marshall
These people are named: Lucky Bay, Poo Poo and Pee Pee. – Marshall

1900km+ travelled since Sydney and we found ourselves in a tiny and quiet town, Baird Bay, with around 20 houses, a campsite and an outfit for swimming with sea lions and dolphins in their natural state. And the sunset… wow. – Mum
We swam with the sea lions and then we got hot chocolate. I was scared. – Marshall

Over the next six months this blog will no doubt showcase a series of inspirational travel photos that will make us look very glamorous and fun. There will also be photos showcasing the mundane, tiring and unsexy parts of travel. These photos represent the latter.
Getting to the pointy end of packing what we want to take on the journey (not too much), what we are going to be shipping to Europe (quite a lot) and what we will give away/bin, a sorting-induced trance took my attention away from Marshall for long enough that I actually realised I couldn’t find him. In our 90-square-metre apartment.
After yelling his name with no response I ran into his room to find him curled up, asleep in his toy teepee. I guess we have to ship that one.
